So. Freaking. Excited.

Late last night I was in bed playing on Twitter instead of sleeping and saw someone tweet something wonderful.  Two minutes later I had purchased this.

It's like being 16 again, except this time I didn't have to beg my Mum to be allowed to go to an over 18's show.

In fact, I think I'm even more excited this time around.  If that is possible!

So, in the space of 8 days during April I will be seeing DAAS and Bryan Adams. Should I perm my hair again too?

Things I Know - Volume Eight

Things I Know about John Farnham concerts.

1. I have been to a concert in almost all the tours he had done since 1988.  You might call that 'obsessed', I call it 'committed'.

2. I know that if you join the fan club, you get great seats.

3. Chandeliers are appropriate for any occasion.

4. When Mr Farnham walks on to the stage, everyone WILL stand up.

5. The man may be 60, but he still has it.  He had the entire Palais Theatre capacity crowd eating out of the palm of his hand.

6. He will make the same lame, terrible jokes every time, but he will pretend they are new and everyone will laugh at them anyway.

7. The first half, which was an 'acoustic' set, was fantastic, even if it did include a banjo.

8.  The first half had NOTHING on the second.

9. He played the entire Whispering Jack album in the second set.  In order.  And told us anecdotes about the songs.

10. The more bagpipers there are, the better the John Farnham concert.

11. I know he has NOT retired, and I for one am VERY glad about that.

I'm linking up with Shae from Yay for Home! for Things I Know again this week.  Click the button and see what other people know!

Musical Monday

On Saturday I was lucky enough to see the first preview performance of the new Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, Love Never Dies.  It was amazing!  If you are anywhere near Melbourne you should get tickets.  Seriously!

Here a couple of the songs.  Not the full production numbers unfortunately, but footage from the sitzprobe.

Enjoy!

Musical Monday

It's no secret that I love me a good musical.  It was really hard to choose just ONE to feature in today's Musical Monday, let alone just one song from it, but I managed.  Without further ado, may I present a megamix of Joseph & the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat!

Enjoy!

Musical Monday

Hi!

Didya have a good weekend?  Mine was low key, which is just how I like them.

Musical Monday this week is featuring my best favourite, Mr Farnham. Perhaps these are songs you haven't heard him sing before.

Musical Monday

This might become a regular part of Chicken and Bee land, it all depends on how motivated I feel next week.  To start us off, here's an oldie but one that I think is a goodie.  Paul McDermott and Fiona Horne, Shut Up, Kiss Me.  Enjoy!

What song are you discovering/remembing this week?

Today I am grateful for airconditioning. So, so grateful for airconditioning!

A Post With No Purpose

I've started this post today at least eight times, then deleted my words.  I don't really know where to start.  I don't know what I want to say today, but I feel that as I have an entire night where I don't have to be anywhere, and I don't even have to get up at the crack of dawn to go to work that I SHOULD be blogging.  Is that how this blogging lark works?  To become the effortless overnight sensation that I AM going to be, do I actually need to work at it? Do I need to have something to say?

Because at the moment, I don't.  I'm spent.  I think the manic Christmas period has taken over and now I just need to process it all in my head.  Christmas itself, the Anniversary, and all the other bits that I don't even want to think about today.

I'm rambling, this post makes no sense.  Sorry about that.  Here's a song I've been listening to a lot lately...

While I'm here, check out my other favourite thing.  A present from Chyken.

It lives on the dashboard of my car.  It's solar powered.  The leaves bounce up and down in a most happy way when it is sunny.  I love random presents.  I love bees.  I love Chyken.

Have you 'Liked' Chickens and Bees on Facebook yet?  You should!  It will alert you about new posts and stuff and make me feel special.  It's easy!  Just click on the button on the top right of this page. Also, I added tabs up the top left hand side in an effort to clean up the blog a bit.  Whaddya reckon? Good move?  Bad move?  De-lurk yourself!  Leave me some loving in  the form of a comment!

On that note, I'm heading off to bed.  Apologies for the completely random post about nothing in particular.  Here in Chicken and Bee land we hope to have something actually worth reading sometime soon.

Today I am grateful for clean sheet day.

Happiness is...

...this song!

I rediscovered it today and even though I have had a really ordinary day, I was almost instantly cheered up. I hope it cheers you up too, if you need it!

While I was on the tube of you, I also found this...

And this...

I could go on all day, but I won't.

My amazing sister and bro-in-law are cooking roast lamb tonight, that's gotta make anyone happy, yeah?

The other current source of happiness is this...

It is 'finished'. It is 'done'.

We get the keys tomorrow! Woot!!!

Bits Of My Weekend - Volume Eighteen

Sorry I haven't been very bloggy lately. I've had a lot going on. Some of it great, some of it woeful. In any case, I haven't felt like writing, so I didn't. Doubt anyone even noticed really.

Yesterday was a designated rest day. I did sweet bugger all except for some cleaning and reading. Chyken went to the Castle with his Dad to collect fence offcuts and generally play in the mud while I had a big fat sleep in.

At this stage, Ownership of the Castle is scheduled for September 21st. It has been a looooong time coming and we are super excited! We got fences this week, and those and the IXl tastics in the bathrooms are the only bits of the house that we actually own right now. Not us and the bank, but just US.

Today Chyken and I (and some other lovely friends!) went to a concert at his school. "Colours of the Drum" by David Jones was AMAZING! He plays with two drumkits. And an array of Tibetan and Japanese bowls and at one point a broom! If you every have the opportunity to see David perform, grab it with both arms!

Bits Of My Weekend is an idea stolen from Six in the City. Please go over there and check out her blog, she hasn't posted for a while because she has had other things on her mind. You'll understand if you read the last few posts on her blog. Please say a prayer for her while you're there, if you're into that kind of thing.

What did YOU get up to this weekend? If you have a blog, I'd love you to leave a link to it in your comment below.
