If you have a food processor, you can use it to rub the butter into the flour and then add the egg and milk and it's even easier.
Make the balls before dinner and then cook them while you're eating and they'll be ready at the perfect time!
For
the Dumplings:
1 cup
SR Flour
1
Tablespoon butter1 egg
Little bit of milk
For
the Sauce:
½ cup
sugar
1 cup
water1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon golden syrup
Rub
butter into flour until it looks like breadcrumbs
Add the egg and enough milk to make a fairly stiff dough.
Roll
it into small balls and set aside.
Put
all the sauce ingredients into a saucepan and bring to the boil.
Drop
the balls into the syrup, turn it down, cover and simmer for 5-10 minutes.
Serve
with cream and/or ice cream.
